Francophonie Day at Carmel Was FRANCTASTIQUE!
What a magnifique day we had yesterday as Carmel celebrated Francophonie Day — a joyful celebration of French language, culture, and creativity! A huge merci beaucoup to Madame Frank for bringing the spirit of la francophonie to life across the college. There were surprises, smiles, and plenty of “ooh la la!” moments throughout the day.
Lenten Fundraising Hits £1007 — And Still Rising!
Our Lenten fundraising is gathering wonderful momentum here at Carmel College! We’re delighted to share that we have now raised an impressive £1007 for the St Augustine’s Conference of the St Vincent de Paul Society — and that total is from just 13 forms so far. With many more still to contribute, we’re excited to see this figure continue to grow.

Stewardship in Action at the Town Hall!
This morning, our incredible Stewardship Student Group stepped into the council chambers at Darlington Town Hall to deliver their Active Travel Ambassador Pitch — and they were absolutely outstanding! After months of research, planning, and collaboration with Lou from Team Modeshift, our students confidently presented their vision to secure funding for the Carmel Ride & Stride Campaign.
Students Prepare for St Patrick’s Day Tea Party
There was plenty of cutting, colouring and craic in our SVP meeting this morning as students got to work creating shamrocks, bunting and decorations for our St Patrick’s Day Tea Party at St Augustine’s Parish Centre.

We hosted a fantastic whole‑school Careers Fair, and it was brilliant to see our students engaging so positively with the many opportunities available to them. What an incredible weekend for Team Carmel! On Saturday, our U13 boys travelled to Bradford Grammar School for the National Schools Table Tennis Area Finals, and the day could not have gone any better. As reigning County Durham champions, the team faced tough opponents from across the North East and Yorkshire, but they rose to the challenge with outstanding skill, composure and determination.
