Year 10 Work Experience Week 2026 Begins
Tomorrow, our fantastic Year 10 students at Carmel College begin their Work Experience Week 2026, and we could not be prouder of them! From banking to baking, builders to butchers, and from classrooms to care homes, our students are stepping out beyond the classroom and into the world of work. This exciting opportunity will allow them to develop new skills, build confidence and gain invaluable real-world experience.
Year 11 Show Dedication at Weekend Revision Sessions
A huge well done to all of our Year 11 students who gave up their weekend to attend revision sessions at Carmel College in preparation for their upcoming GCSE exams. It has been fantastic to see so many students demonstrating such commitment, determination and resilience at this crucial stage in their education. The focus, effort and positive attitude shown throughout the sessions have been truly impressive.
Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Success in Swaledale
Our Year 10 students have just returned from an incredible Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) practice expedition in the stunning surroundings of Swaledale near Reeth—and what an experience it has been! Thirty students took on the challenge with fantastic determination, resilience and teamwork, navigating their way through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Throughout the expedition, they supported one another every step of the journey, demonstrating the positive attitude and strong team spirit that defines the Carmel College community.
Team Carmel Compete in English Schools Track & Field Cup
Yesterday, Team Carmel proudly took to the track at Monkton Stadium for the first round of the English Schools Track & Field Cup, with an impressive 60 students from Years 7–10 representing the college. It was a fantastic day of competition, with outstanding performances across the board. Our students demonstrated incredible determination, teamwork and school spirit, rising to the challenge against some of the strongest schools in the region. The atmosphere throughout the event was electric, with every athlete giving their all and supporting one another.
Bullseye at Darts Club!
There’s been plenty of excitement at Darts Club this week, with some seriously impressive throwing on display! A huge congratulations to Caolan and Kian, who both achieved brilliant 180 scores — a fantastic accomplishment that delighted everyone watching. Their focus, skill and determination really stood out and showed just how much progress is being made at the club.
A Dream Night at the Theatre
What an unforgettable evening at the theatre! Students and staff from Carmel College were treated to a truly West End–worthy performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by *Darlington Operatic Society — and it was nothing short of spectacular.
Our First Mass of Eastertide
Today, our school community came together to celebrate our first Mass of Eastertide, marking the beginning of this joyful and hope‑filled season in the Church’s year. We are very grateful to Father Binoy, who celebrated Mass with us and helped guide our prayer so thoughtfully as we reflected on the Easter message. His presence made the celebration especially meaningful for staff and students alike.
A Magnifique Journey to France
Our French adventure began bright and early as we set off en route to Dover, suitcases packed, spirits high and just a little fatigued. With snacks au chocolat in hand and plenty of excitement buzzing around, we practised our bonjour, dreamed of baguettes and crêpes, and prepared ourselves to seas the day as we crossed the Channel. The adventure was officially underway!
