What a fantastic start to the year for our St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) at Carmel College!

On Friday morning, we launched this year's SVP programme and the response was truly incredible. With over 200 students attending, there was hardly an empty seat in the room. It was inspiring to see so many young people eager to get involved and make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Turning Concern into Action

The SVP is all about putting faith into action through service, compassion and kindness. It provides students with opportunities to support others, respond to the needs of the local community and demonstrate that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.

As Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, founder of the SVP, once said:

"Charity must never look to the past, but always to the future."

This spirit of service continues to inspire the work of our students today.

Making a Difference in the Community

Over the coming weeks, members of the SVP will begin planning a wide range of initiatives, including:

  • Care home visits
  • Community litter picks
  • Fundraising events
  • Charitable outreach projects
  • Acts of service to support local people and organisations

These opportunities will allow students to live out the values and virtues that are at the heart of life at Carmel College.

Living Our Carmel Virtues

It is wonderful to see so many students choosing to give their time in service of others. Their enthusiasm, generosity and commitment reflect the very best of our college community and demonstrate how young people can be a force for good in the world around them.

One Shared Mission

200 young people, one shared mission: to put love into action.

We are incredibly excited to see what our SVP members achieve this year and the positive impact they will have on the communities they serve.

St Vincent de Paul, pray for us!
