What an incredible achievement for our brilliant Year 7 and 8 girls, who were crowned Darlington Town Cricket Champions after an unbeaten run throughout the entire tournament!

Competing against four other schools, the team were outstanding from start to finish, demonstrating excellent teamwork, determination and composure across a series of highly competitive matches. Their consistency and passion truly set them apart.

The excitement built as they headed into the final match against a very strong Polam Hall side. With both teams having won all three of their previous games, it was a thrilling winner-takes-all showdown!

Rising to the occasion in spectacular fashion, the girls delivered an incredible performance to secure the victory, earn their gold medals and bring the trophy home to Carmel!

A huge well done also goes to Rosie and Maggie in Year 9, who supported the event throughout the day by umpiring a number of matches. They were a real credit to the college and received fantastic feedback from the schools involved.

Special thanks must go to Mrs Denley, whose dedication and commitment through weekly cricket club sessions continue to help the team grow and succeed. Today’s achievement is a testament to the time, care and encouragement she gives our students each week.

Players of the Day were Amelia and Esther, who both delivered exceptional performances. However, every single member of the squad should feel incredibly proud of what they achieved.

What a week it has been for Team Carmel… trophies, finals, celebrations and unforgettable memories everywhere you look!
