Tomorrow, our fantastic Year 10 students at Carmel College begin their Work Experience Week 2026, and we could not be prouder of them!
From banking to baking, builders to butchers, and from classrooms to care homes, our students are stepping out beyond the classroom and into the world of work. This exciting opportunity will allow them to develop new skills, build confidence and gain invaluable real-world experience.
Across Darlington and beyond, preparations are well underway—there will be polished shoes, ironed shirts, packed lunches, and perhaps a few early alarms set! Some students will be reading stories in nurseries, while others will be shadowing professionals, serving customers and tackling real workplace challenges.
This week marks an important milestone in their journey, offering the chance to discover new interests, meet new people and take meaningful steps towards future careers and aspirations.
We are already looking forward to hearing all about their experiences and seeing the incredible ways they represent the Carmel College community.
And as a special reminder of how far they’ve come, we are sharing a lovely throwback photo from their Year 9 days—just look at the progress already!
Good luck, Year 10! Work hard, be confident, be kind and enjoy every moment. We are all behind you.
