This week, our young Vincentians have continued to shine as they met to make thoughtful and meaningful plans for Lent. Building on the success of Wednesday’s Heart to Heart break‑time sessions — led by our dedicated Sixth Form Mental Health & Wellbeing student leaders — the group gathered again this morning to explore how they can serve others during this special season.

We were delighted to be joined by members of our adult SVP (St Vincent de Paul) conference — John, Michelle, Brenda, and Brian — who meet with our students weekly. Together with support from our Sixth Form leadership team, our younger pupils discussed ideas for fundraising, outreach, and acts of service, with a particular focus on supporting those who may feel lonely or isolated.

One of their most exciting ideas includes planning a special afternoon party for older parishioners, along with other opportunities to build meaningful connections across generations. The room was filled with compassion, creativity, and a shared desire to make a difference.

During the session, we reflected on the true meaning of Lent: not only giving things up, but stepping forward in kindness — starting conversations, noticing others, and choosing to be present.

We are incredibly proud of our Young Vincentians for the love, thoughtfulness, and generosity they continue to show.
This is faith in action — and they are living it beautifully.
