Carmel College is celebrating a truly historic sporting achievement as our badminton team claimed the title of County Champions at the County Badminton Finals held at Thornaby Pavilion. Representing the college with pride, skill and determination, Jeson, Aloysius, Joseph and Saharsh delivered an exceptional performance from start to finish.
The boys were outstanding throughout the entire competition, defeating every school they faced and winning every fixture by an impressive 5–0 scoreline. Even more remarkably, they didn’t drop a single game all day — a testament to their focus, teamwork and technical ability on court. Their dominance made this victory not only well‑deserved but unforgettable.
This achievement marks a major milestone for Carmel College, as it was the first time we had ever qualified for this level of the competition after winning the Darlington round. To go on and win the County Finals in such emphatic style makes the accomplishment even more special for Team Carmel.
Alongside their superb badminton, the boys demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, representing Carmel College with maturity, respect and real class. Their attitude both on and off the court made us incredibly proud.
With this victory, the team now progresses to the Regional Finals in York, and excitement is already building for the next stage of their journey. We cannot wait to see what they achieve next.
