NEOS, the Network of Europe Oriented Schools, of which Carmel is a founder member, was established officially in the year 2000 to encourage the development of projects which would prepare our pupils for their future as European citizens. The association currently has twenty-two full members and six associate members from seven different countries, Germany, France, England, Italy, Spain, Finland, Poland and Russia.
Activities are planned and projects developed at teachers’ conferences and pupils participate in international workshops. Teachers’ conferences have been held in Germany, Italy, Poland and England. The latest on the theme of “New Technologies” took place in Halikko in Finland in November 2004. Pupil workshops have taken place in Cologne, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Orvieto and Bocholt.
